Yesterday a number of you seemed to look at me oddly when I dispatched the orc that we found on the trail when we were following the nightmare back to what ultimately would have been the citadel. I want to remind you that going in to this we all agreed that they were brigands and deserved death and that ultimately we did not want any combatants left alive to potentially cause us trouble later with the council of thieves (one still got away, but hopefully his cowardice and failure will overcome his need to report to the council what happened.

Killing orcs has never been a problem for me. I was surprised we let the bandits go that we have. Yes we're going to need soldiers if we are going to go to war with Rosala, but hiring defeated bandits rubs me the wrong way. I find myself vacillating between percieved family need and the lawful punishment. That we are not the courts and so not responsible to mete out the punishment is something i have to remind myself of always.
