2/21/10 Game

Started off at our apartment. Hell knights came to our home. Paralictor showed up with 5 armed guards and one…mephit of some type. Paralictor was a very lithe woman with odd plate type chain mail. Gasirvadai (master of blades) took over as the woman and the devil left. Collected the nightmare and went off toward the citadel for the order of the rack. In the courtyard the devil brought Don’s father. Paralictor advised that they had determined that it was our rival who had created the problems and that we don’t want any future issues between the hellknights and our family. Four armingers were patrolling in our area when we returned.

Next day we decided to head out to the ruins to see what riches could be found. House Dioso takes care of this section of town (near ruins) Cemaine is the family that runs the inn near the canal where we docked. Met with Cortez at the inn to discuss ways in to the ruins. Bow made of antlers with an arrow pointing straight down is the location of the next dusk market.

In ruins came across 9 tiefling with long arms. “Choker gang” individuals. Killed 6 of the 9, 4/5/7 got away.

Loot: Studded leather armor, MW Light XB x6 – 4 used 2 for sale, 6x short swords. +1 flaming short sword (to red)

15gems 50gp each. (3 for party loot)

Tracked the group back to the pillars in the ruins. Caught scout but rest discovered us on the way. Scout had belt of 6 potions on him. Defeated some hobgoblins at the pillars. Some choker tieflings and and a summoner was at the pillars.

From Kieran

Yesterday a number of you seemed to look at me oddly when I dispatched the orc that we found on the trail when we were following the nightmare back to what ultimately would have been the citadel. I want to remind you that going in to this we all agreed that they were brigands and deserved death and that ultimately we did not want any combatants left alive to potentially cause us trouble later with the council of thieves (one still got away, but hopefully his cowardice and failure will overcome his need to report to the council what happened.

Game Notes 2/12/2010

Tracked the horses to a river crossing. Came across goupr of bandits. One horse got lost in the way. Ukobach joined the fray (some kind of firey devil.) Devil healed by negative energy. Shout deafened one of the thieves and Ukbach. Killed all of the bandits except one of the boatmen.

Loot: 2x 2d8+5 potions. 4x pot Shield of Faith (+2) 4x oil Align Weapon (Lawful) 2x Pot Remove disease 1x pot water breathing. 1x pot lesser restoration. 1x pot truestrike.

After searching for the horse we found an orc bleeding to death that was bucked off the horse. Killed him. Horse appears to be heading back to the order of the rack citadel. Took the horses back to the caves to meet up with lobos and the thieves. They were able to pull the wagons with no problem. Regular folk in awe of our presence due to the nightmares.
Received Fame point x2 for Westcrown. One for killing the shadow beasts and one for retrieving the horses.
Long term effects from successful mission:
Family receives one foal out of first generation of nightmare.
Increased family prestige with each of the family with broker.
Each family agreed to go against Rosalla.
Receive an endorsement from each family to support our claim to secure our territory.
Canal priv’s from each family for right of way.
Baron gives an official invite from his house to come to the island for a feast and party in our honor.

They want us to return the horse to the hellknights as a gift from all of us.

Contacted cousin with the hell knights. Advised we can work this to the favor of Don’s father. He advised there are certain other people that we don’t want to have present at the meeting so he’ll check it out and flare for us if it’s negative.

I think we have to be careful with some of the things we do. There is a tendency to take the lower moral road by bringing up the fact that we live in a lawful evil society. We might live there but we don't have to emulate them. We can do things differently. All will not be sweetness and light, but that doesn't mean it has to be dark either. If we achieve results in a more morally acceptable way, WE can set the bar for other families and maybe improve the society as a whole.

Travelled to outside of tavern to the south. Well lit alleyway out front of tavern/estate. Someone followed us but managed to escape mid night. Gorby had to give up the watch on the shadow creatures at the tavern. Ulvauno & Atenaar are the best suited to gain favor from the destruction of Rosalla.)

House specialties: Ruffano – Paper, linguistics. Uavluno – Spy, information. Atenaar – unknown.

Head of uavluno family is Bresting Palero Ulvauno.

Went back to the brokers shop to get further information about the caravan problems. Interrupted some type of heated discussion. Met with the esteemed Missepe, Commander Starnon, Lt Chard, and Baron Mezinas Alphonse Vitaron (broker.) 6 caravan coming in to town followed by a dozen special warhorse. The group as a whole have investment in the caravan. Possible infernal bloodline addition to the hourses based on look from Baron. Caravan was discovered outside westcrown in or near Amapus, 15 miles outside westcrown. Most of the merchants agree that Rosalla should be their enemies as well. Picked up gem that is worth 40g from the broker.

Attacked by pack of rabid dogs (5). Color sprayed and dispatched them.

Attacked by 10 large skeletal creatures. Appeared to be a mix of various humanoids. Ran away after one horse was killed and party greatly wounded. Met group of “Nimbus” who is from Amapus. They were alert for an ogre and mentioned that there had been recent undead activity. Indicated other creatures: gargoyle (with the ogre), shadow creatures at night along the vale. Stirges, and a new creature we’ve not heard of … the torble. They attack in swarms and like to eat horses.

Engaged gargoyle near tower on way to Amapus. Ranger killed gargoyle. Group returned after we killed gargoyle including a tiefling and ogre. They attacked us. One of party and ogre were color sprayed. Tiefling went to run away. Convinced him to stay and spill information to us. He knows where the horses are. In a cave at the brook/river goblins inhabit. On the other side of the cave is where the horses are being kept. He believes they’re trying to keep some kind of deal. He indicated that they seem to have some kind of draconic blood. Group of 6, as well as other groups in the caves. Nimbus group decided to meet up with us in town in 6 days. Left us a whistle to help keep the gargoyle at bay. Group leader gave us indication that tower held fat loots

Loot found: Arcane scroll Mage armor, ray of enfeeblement, acid arrow Potion: neutralize poison , potion stabilizet, scroll: cloud kill(9), shout(7), fly(5)

Continued on to the village of Amapus. Monk joined us. Came up to a cave with a dragonic man chained in front. Lizard man came out of trap door got knocked back by the paladin with a large stone. Foes included: priest, thief, dragon, hobgoblin, and “lobos.” After paladin broke the Scar free he attacked axle and the group. Axle, the priest, and the hobgoblin were killed. Thief and Lobos were left alive. Thief and Scar were charmed by Todd. Scartis said meeting took place between the priest, axle, and a woman named “Chammady” and she took the horses. She’s representative of the council of thieves. Thief mentions that they left a cache of gems nearby in the caves.
